2013 and Super rugby is ready to explode on our TV screens

Another super rugby season is upon us and as always we will hope that a South African team would be the one that walks away with the silverware. Only the Bulls had that pleasure together with the Lions that shared the first trophy in the early super 10 days.
Out of the 5 teams South Africa fields in this years competition, only the Stormers , the Sharks and to a lesser extent the Blue Bulls will really be in the running. The Cheetahs with some amazing players will play some amazing rugby again but will not be competitive for the whole competition due to a lack of depth. The EP Kings might play a few crackers but will probaly end up being the milk cow in the series.
The Lions is fighting back magnificently by organising a full rugby programme for themselves with a few international games included. They are definitely busy preparing themselves for the big playoff against the EP Kings after the Super Rugby competition. What i would really like to see is that the franchises with injury problems should be assisted by the Lions. A Loan scheme allowing a player to play super rugby in place of an injured player would not only help the franchise in trouble but will also be an investment in the player and also in the immediate future of the Lions. Such players coming back to the Lions will add immense value to the Lions franchise.
Good luck to all our franchises and all our players. Hope that this will be a relatively injury free year. May the best team win as long as it is a South African team.
