Jake White, had his first television interview on The Rugby Club (Aus’ Boots & All) last night! To be honest, seeing him in the Brumbies jersey made me want to puke on my Brumbies jersey!
I always admired the ‘under dog’ mentality, which the Brumbies where when they started in 1996; the Brumbies under Rod McQueen, with their unique attacking style of rugby, really impressed me. The Brumbies was my favourite Aussie team until they fired a coach, again, during the season. When players become ‘too big’ for the coach, that’s where I draw the line. To make it even worse, they appointed Snake White for the next 4 years! How ridiculous!
Snake White will not last 4 years! He will jump ship as soon as he is offered another job (like that’s going to happen – oops, I forgot Maties hostel rugby and Paul Roos used him). Secondly, a contract in Canberra doesn’t mean a lot. Ask Nucifora and Friend!
Snake White, is an overrated coach. Yes, he was in the role of Head Coach when the Boks won the ‘holy grail’ in 2007. However, just like with Pieter de Villiers, the players (and Eddie Jones) was really in control! Jake brought tradition and discipline (important factors) into the 2004 group; however, after the low of the Kampstaaldraad soapie, any coach would have made a difference.
Jake White, might know how to manage, but, is not innovative enough. He was the only World Cup winning coach ever, not to retain his position! He only brought ‘rush defense’ to the Boks, nothing else. To show his lack of being a top coach, he already said that Stephen Larkham, George Gregan and Eddie Jones will play major roles under him. To me it shows clearly, that he just has got what it takes to be a Head Coach! A good Head Coach does not surround himself with assistant coaches that are better than him, unless he is panicking!
PS: White admitted that SA doesn’t have the skillfull quality in the backline, as in Aus!
Go the Stormers and Reds!
Put your balls on the guillotine!
Mine in bold.
