MO(m)Bela Stadium to Rock!
MOB 2013 is only 2 months away. “2 months is still long!” You say, but when you consider accommodation to be arranged and tickets to be purchased to have the best possible seats in the house, 2 months is not alot of time at all! Heyneke Meyer has already started with his preliminary training squad, a squad on which I am sure you all have lots to say…
Be that as it may, coming to the MOB is going to be about much more than watching Stampkar rugby by Heyneke’s boys. It your chance to meet some fellow bloggers, or if you don’t blog, to meet some sports lovers. Its your chance to be part of a historic event which is the first time ever that Nelspruit will host a Rugby Test Match, and not just one, but two!
The Springboks will play against Scotland and the curtain raiser is gonna be a thrilling encounter between Italy and Samoa!
The 14th June will also mark the second annual meeting of the Sport 24 Bloggers, when we gather in Nelspruit to have a braai or two, have a drink or seven, and enjoy the lovely winter weather of the Lowveld, which is by far better than up in Joburg, where you will have to settle for a cup of luke warm coffee during a test match, while we enjoy some ice cold beer!
The Bookings for accommodation has been made and space is limited. Only 6 places are still available. So far, Sheriff, myself, Jaco and Cecil have confirmed and Dutchmen and his wife is “tentative”. The Accommodation will be at Broham Lodge, just outside of Nelspruit and close to the stadium. There are 6 units that will sleep 2 persons each, so yes, we will share, but sharing is caring The units will be R250 per person per night, so R500 for the Weekend. The Test Tickets are set to sell for R350 each for the Springbok match and get this, you ALSO get the Samoa vs Italy match for FREE, MAHALA, AIZIGALO! There will possible never again be an opportunity to watch 2 test matches and spend two nights with fantastic, sport loving people like you have right now! And all this for the ridiculously low cost of R850 for the weekend! (Meals and drinks not included, neither your own traveling, strippers, or tips. T’s and C’s apply etc etc. Biltong also not included)
The program is as follows:
14 June, Friday: Arive, have a beer or two, braai the evening, have more beer, sleep.
15 June, Saturday: Wake up, down a beer, have breakfast, do your stuff, braai at stadium, watch the tests, go out after.
16 June, Sunday: Wake up, have breakfast, go home with fantastic memories.
Optional: Wake up early, take a drive to the Kruger National Park, go home with even greater memories.
Remember that Monday is also a holiday, so if you are lucky you can get a booking for the Sunday in the KNP as well to make full use of this opportunity!
So, what are you waiting for? The clock is counting down, will you be part of history? Will you MOB the MOB-ela stadium with us? Or will you lose out, like last year?
Let me know!
