The Proteas once again had me in agony and ecstacy over the past few days. Admittedly the ecstacy was saved for this morning but who cares.

A test that looked dead and buried for us for four days ended in a splendid moral victory for Graeme Smith and his mighty men. Well done guys. After Michael Clarke’s double and two more centurions for the Aussies I admit that I had no hope. I firmly believed that our reign as number one will even be shorter that that of England. I also used the words “se…ma…jou…and p**s” not necessarily in that order a few times over the weekend.

  1. What a test! most teams would have lost, but not us, not the number 1 team in the world!! To Perth we go!

  2. I think a lot of us repeated said sentence, but it shows that FAF has what it takes, in the same style that Duminy made his impact.

I am never happy with a draw, but today, that made for an awesome end to this test match.

  3. Out of the ashes of their Ashes a new Aussie-motto must surely arise: Beware the Saffa-debutant! Last time we were there it was JP that made them suffer, but surely this effort by FAF was as good if not a better! Now I know why the English were so happy with those two Onion-draws on our shores – its not like a victory, but it sure as hell is not defeat!
