  1. The Stormers again have a shitty season.
Starting with a bye in the first week for the second time in the S15 only team to do that while others had not had that inconvenience at all.
Then they have the Crusaders, Chiefs, Brumbies and Reds away from home the 4 toughest overseas teams.
And to top it all they do not play against the Rebels and Blues two of the weakest teams over the last couple of seasons.

If you can ask any CEO or coach what would be the worst draw if that you can get this would be it. LOL

Well now the boys will just have to do it the hard way!!!

  2. This test window break needs to be fixed. Why complicate the tournament the past 2 years with teams starting at different times?

Lions have a reasonably easy season in terms of having the tour later in the season and playing weaker (although I guess we’ll only know how the teams stack up next year) opposition on tour.

How do you pick them to finish? Around 12ish on the log?

    • I agree, this break in Super Rugby is inconvenient, for the teams and the players as well as for the fans.

Judging teams pre-season seems to be impossible. In 2012 the Blues were one of the favourites going in and last year the Highlanders, only to struggle to win matches. Who will it be next year?

The Lions have a tough start playing 3 away derbies in four games, a relatively “easy” tour and second half playing the Highlanders (on last year’s form) and the Force away and then finishing with three home games against the Bulls, Rebels and Cheetahs.

The Lions have been disappointing in the Currie Cup, which makes it difficult to be overly optimistic about their chances next year, but if they can eliminate their 20 minute siesta per game they can knock over a few teams. One will have to look at their final squad but taking their currently known contracted players half the squad will be Super Rugby rookies and up front a 12th spot might be a “great” finish considering that they will have to win 5 games to achieve that.
