Like a love affair gone array, this is one being put on hold.
Years ago I started to read the blogs after being sent a link by a friend. The blog was that of the late Rugby Guru and I started my own. The blogging community was not as big but it was lekka being here. My first two Post got massive readership and I continued, writing things my way.
Over the years the platform has undergone many changes. They say “Change is as good as a holiday” but in my opinion this has not been the overall consensus amongst Sport 24 bloggers with our move from Letterdash to Word Press. LD was not perfect, far from it, but it was what we were used to and it worked for us. Word Press is a excellent blogging platform, BUT it is one where you have to get accustomed to, and only once you are familiar with all these new fancier settings and options, widgets, plug ins etc, then you can blog.
What has made this move more difficult is the fact that everything that was seemingly easy on LD is a mission. For example, I had difficulty setting up my Headers and Backgrounds, something fairly easy to do, but it never came out the way my settings told me it would. I thought that maybe it was displayed differently because I am logged on on said PC, so I did it and went to view the blog from my Ipad and from my Laptop but both showed me what I was not happy with. Being told that your browser is outdated when you running IE9 is just bogus.
Then there is the Spam filter which is limited to Sport 24 blogs. It is something highly irratating, and I have been the love of 5 different woman over the last week, won $10000000 in the lottery and am waiting on a cheque from Bill Gates because I clicked on a link.
Where I got much more readers on LD, and had regular contributions, there is little to none now. I have to look for a Sport Post between all the writing of Louis Vutton bag sales and Martha Steward lectures in Ohio. What the hell does this have to do with Sport?
I think that the Sport24 readership will take a dip as will the blog site. They are just not getting anything done. So for now, I will still visit my blog, make some comments from time to time but will switch my attention to my other Word Press Blog, http://www.sportsoapies.wordpress.com
I am in the process of setting up a website in the very near future and will let you know when it’s up and running. From what I can gather it will contain posts as well as sporting news, twitface updates, live scoring etc. I will also welcome other bloggers to post on there, but as I say, it’s still in it’s baby stages.
So for now, Cheerio people, here is to hoping that the Sharks win tomorrow.
