As a Bulls supporter I am sneakingly pleased we are playing the Blacksaders and not the Reds…. as could have happened if the Bulls had deliberately not scored their fourth try…
I’d like your comment on the Bulls scrums though: didn’t they do okay against the Sharks last week (even though the Sharks won the game)? I mean, that Sharks front row is the best in the business, right? Surely you don’t think that the Bulls are going to rock up in Saderville with a weak scrum?
Seems Flip van der Merwe should be back for the Saders game and should shore up the Bulls scrum, the Juandre Kruger/Steenkamp combo just don’t have the power to support the front row. Werner Kruger should be left at home, just about anyone else should be able to do a better job.
The Bulls scrum looked in serious trouble against a Lions second string front row and are inconsistent. I’m not convinced Kruger is Bok material either. The Saders tight five are noted scrummers and their loosies are world class and they’re at home. I hope the Bulls take it but I honestly don’t see that happening.
Reds vs Sharks: Depending on whether Cooper gets a ban they should beat the Sharks. They re on their way up and the Sharks are inconsistent.
Crusaders vs Bulls: A big match up and both teams are inconsistent but are proven knock-out players. A tough call but the Bulls were killed in the scrums yesterday and the Saders won’t gift them so many lineouts. Saders to win.
Semis:
Stormers vs Crusaders – jetlag back to SA isn’t that influential. Tough game and the Stormers will have to play to win rather than not to lose. Tough call but I’ll go with the Saders as proven knockout winners and winners away from home.
Chiefs vs Reds: Chiefs have lost their last two games and three from their last six. Reds to take this one.
Final:
Reds vs Crusaders: Playing at home the Reds should take it
I think if they’re all fit, the Sharks can and will beat the Reds. Cooper there or not. I think Steyn, Mishalak can contain him and Genia and our wingers have to complete first time tackles on Ione or there’s trouble, but they can do it. Sharks need front foot ball to be successful

I think the Bulls were almost forced to score the 4th try in order to win

If on form the Sharks can win but they have been inconsistent, even within a match. The Reds just seem to have found their mojo.
