Very interesting stats

Two things struck me as interesting topics to talk about on the rugby news front. First is the news of John Smit as the new Sharks CEO and the second is Heinrich Brussow not being considered in the Springbok […]

One thing that seems to have disappeared from Steyn’s game is his “natural flair”. When he started he was a very unpredictable player who loved to play the situation and make decisions on the fly. I think this […]

Hahaha… ok. Spies can’t bash unless its against lesser opponents. Juan is at least in the group an is the only recognized outside centre picked and on recent form the best in the position. But agree on the likes […]

I hear you. Coetzee I don’t agree with playing to the ball. Not good enough. Duane can but Duane’s roll is more about 8th man than “fetching”. He’ll be more effective roaming. Strauss, Bizzie, Habana and Hougie […]

I agree… the bigger the fetcher the better. A guy like Fourie punches above his weight and Brussow too. As for Flouw as captain it makes sense but then again he is the wrong side of 25

To many forwards hanging around first and second receiver

True… but then again Le Roux can cover almost anywhere and I purely picked him in the “wing” area because it finds him a spot in the squad

My thinking behind Hougaard is his versatility… he is at best my third pick. However if I were to pick a pure scrumhalf I would look at Van Zyl. He is a huge prospect!

Not so sure… especially if we are the ones trying to steal a ball… in situations like that people like Brussow and Fourie are invaluable because of how quickly they get over the ball, either causing a turnover […]

Because Bekker is leaving there is no point in picking him. He won’t be available for Bok selection as he is heading off to Japan

One can’t help but comment on Meyer’s speech about the breakdown “blues” of this country. Meyer is of the opinion that if we can sort out the breakdown of South African teams we can win matches. Truer […]

Hulle gee Swiel kans in die Vodacom Cup… laat hy eers bietjie sppel kans kry die jaar. Watch volgende jaar. Fleckie rate hom moer hoog

As usual Uysh… a good colomn… Do agree on a lot of your selections. That being said here would be mine:
15. Louis Ludik (Joe Pietersen) – in my opinion the two most consistent thus far
14. Gio Aplon […]

it is thin but its better than previous years. My verdict is still out on Coenie but I think he might become a bloody good tighthead. He didn’t look to bad for the Boks before his injury

Exactly… but unlike most other years at least they have pretty good backup

Pretty soon it’s going to be the time when most South African men’s time will be dominated by red meat and fire, alcohol and rugby. The Super XV is almost upon us and the rugby starved nation is gearing up […]

But how much rugby does Schalk have left and is Bissie a good choice as cap? I might go the Flo route but as you say… overseas plus not a veterened Bok

Listen to me? No… Listen to the public and media? Yes
