Will we also see some shock exclusions?

The French Squad for the world cup in September has been announced. and although we all know experience wins you World cups
Their selectors have left out experienced Utility Forward Sebastien Chabal, and Centres Yannick Jauzion and Mathieu Bastareaud from their preliminary squad.
Mathieu Bastareaud
Yannick Jauzion
Sebastien Chabal
Chabal who has 60+ caps for the national team is a brillaint loose forward, and can also cover lock, there is no doubt the French will miss him, but he is quite a fan favourite, and spectators, and French supporters will probabaly be more disappointed, as they won’t get to see the Cave man in action.
al though this is a preliminary squad, it is unlikely that players will be added to the squad, unless there are some injuries. if anything, a few players will probably be dropped from the squad closer to the WC.
I enjoy seeing who the other countries choose, I’m not really up to date with Northern hemisphere rugby and the form of these players, but it gives one an indication of who we’ll be facing, should we come up against these teams.
The important question though is….will we see some shock exclusions when our squad is announced…?

it’s just a preliminary squad, their season ends soon, probably just going to get the guys together, train together, or have a little discussion like we did with our group of 50something

No “shock” exclusions for us but we live in hope.

haha…I then see, very view expected inclusions, and quite a few shocks. I know we have a huge group of players capable of representing the country, and who won’t let us down, but he’ll probably go for experience inmost cases, I just hope the guys that can’t be ignored…guys like Alberts, Lambie, Grant, Brussow and Bekker not only make the squad, but get some game time. our biggest problem is, our usual first choice players, who are experienced, will make the squad, but when selecting our first XV, will we choose experience ahead of form, like Spies / Alberts… I’m just worried we choose the best 30, but not necessarily the best starting team

I see shock inclusions as bad things at the moment. Good things would be expected inclusions. Not what we expect Div to choose, but who we expect deserve it.

could be a good thing, or a bad thing…I expect the majority of our squad, to be “expected” choices…
