In our Bottom 10, a few of the regulars I thought would be heading up, have proven me wrong, but we do have a few departures this week. The gap between 10 and 47 is starting to grow a bit now, heading towards 15 points, still two good weeks could turn that right around

As for our Yellow Capper of the week, a very big congratulations to StormyRodger, the first FTW player to take the cap for a second time! Well done Stormy! Hope to see you in the Top 10 again soon.

17 ? 22 StormyRodgerStormyRodger won the yellow cap in this pool in round 13 76.00

16/05/2012 in Uncategorized

Only two weeks of Super Rugby left until we break for the Winter Tests, will you be pushing it all the way, or taking an early break? Lets hope our teams pick the former.

We have no change to our Top 2 this week, but the rest of the Top 10 has been a rollercoaster ride, with the Highlanders vs. Canes and the Chiefs vs. Reds games being very tough on a few of us. Then there was also the ‘Unpickable’ Saders vs. Rebels game, only 2690 out of over 150 000 players got that one correct!

Here is our Top 10 for week 12

1  - The Ice 78.58
2  - Truth be told 76.50
3 ? 1 Die KriekPool captain 76.25
4 ? 1 ShaunR 75.75
5 ? 2 Big Joe 75.00
6 ? 2 Kitchener 74.50
7 ? 1 Marcus C 74.17
8 ? 2 Gilly 74.00
9  - Potyster 73.83
10 ? 2 Whistleblower 73.25

I distinctly remember asking for LESS Stormers in the Top 10, why do they populate 6/10 spots, including the top 2? Come on guys, we can’t have this! We are making them look good here! Put some fight into it!

As for the bottom 10

47 ? 1 darwinia 61.42
48 ? 4 vossie 61.08
49 ? 3 HiltonH 60.75
50  - powa 58.67
51  - Charmaine 55.75
52  - Skully 55.58
53  - Rocky 55.00
54  - lobo 50.50
55  - Aragorn 20.25
56  - bigbadbill 9.50

Is my entire pool made up of Stormers? At least they are allowed in this round up Cool

And our MBET.co.za voucher winner for the week is . . .

15 ? 10 BlouesBloues won the yellow cap in this pool in round 12 70.75

Not a Stormer! Congrats Bloues! Spend that money as wisely as you made your picks!

Good luck to all for what I hope will be a lucky Week 13, for the superstitios players, hope you have some Defaults left Wink

And remember to join us for the Junior World Cup and Winter Tests

SuperBru Week 11 – Something is moving in there!

07/05/2012 in Uncategorized

What a week!

The Sharks finally came through, and I have my first ever GSP, but enough about me

Before we get to the top 10, another interresting bit of info this week:

Unchanged

Charmaine  - (51)
lobo  - (54)
Aragorn  - (55)
bigbadbill  - (56)

Only 4 unchanged, and of those, only two are still playing, we seem to have lost bigbadbill and Aragorn. For the rest of the pool, everyone went up or down this week. We have yet another new leader, the former dominator Tapper has fallen completely out of the top 10, basicly a week full of moving and shaking, the pool is truly wide open!

And now for our top 10:

1 ? 2 The Ice 73.83
2 ? 1 Truth be told 72.00
3 ? 1 Big Joe 71.00
4 ? 5 Die KriekPool captain 69.75
5 ? 8 ShaunR 69.75
6 ? 2 Marcus C 69.67
7 ? 4 Fragile 69.58
8 ? 7 Kitchener 69.00
9 ? 4 Potyster 68.83
10 ? 2 Gilly 68.75

Congratulations The Ice on a fine performance, top spot is now yours, but it will be a fight to keep it, any takers?

As I mentioned above, Tapper is now gone, and with only 5 points seperating 1 from 10, the business end is going to be a true free-for-all!

Our MBET.co.za voucher winner of the week is REM, he must’ve used his blog background to distract the opposition!

Congrats REM, yellow cap 11 is yours!

15 ? 3 REMREM won the yellow cap in this pool in round 11 66.50

On to our Bottom 10:

47 ? 2 Dean 57.25
48 ? 1 darwinia 56.92
49 ? 7 Nelster 56.08
50 ? 3 powa 55.17
51  - Charmaine 52.75
52 ? 1 Skully 52.08
53 ? 1 Rocky 52.00
54  - lobo 44.00
55  - Aragorn 20.25
56  - bigbadbill 9.50

A new addition this week, as we see Nelster joining the ranks of the ‘power chasers’ and our favourite bottom lounger, Darwinia seems to be heading out. Who will we mock when you leave Dar?

SuperBru Week 10 – And something new

03/05/2012 in Uncategorized

After another week of pushing and shoving at the top of the FTW pool, we finally have a new leader Cool but it isn’t me Frown

Tapper has been knocked off the top, rather hard, and our ‘tell-no-lie’ blog bud, Hanjo, now leads

1 ? 3 Truth be told 64.00
2 ? 7 Big Joe 63.50
3 ? 3 The Ice 63.00
4 ? 7 Marcus C 62.67
5 ? 2 Potyster 61.33
6 ? 5 Tapper 61.08
7 ? 5 Stevo26 60.83
8 ? 9 Whistleblower 60.00
9 ? 1 Die KriekPool captain 59.75
10 ? 2 Cheeto 59.67

Heading into week 11, there are a few Bottom 10 regulars who seem poised to make the ‘Great Escape’

46 ? 2 Francois 48.83
47 ? 2 powa 48.67
48 ? 3 TheGreenMan 47.50
49 ? 1 darwinia 47.08
50 ? 1 cupboards 47.00
51 ? 2 Charmaine 46.25
52 ? 2 Rocky 46.00
53 ? 1 Skully 44.75
54 ? 1 lobo 36.00
55 ? 1 Aragorn 20.25
56 ? 1 bigbadbill

As for our Yellow Capper, Pauljay can wear it with pride this week, and if his Bru name is anything to go by, this will also be his last.

24 ? 22 One TimeOne Time won the yellow cap in this pool in round 10 54.75

Good luck to everyone for this weekend’s picks, it’s going to be a tough one!

In other news this week, FTW is heading into new territories, the Winter Tests and Junior World Championships pools are now open

Never Give Up! SuperBru – Week 9

23/04/2012 in Uncategorized

No matter how bad things seem, there is always hope!

Just ask our resident bottom feeder, Darwinia. I jokingly referred to her when the competition was introduced, saying anyone can win the weekly R100 prize, even Dar. Well, guess what, Darwinia is our week 9 Yellow Cap winner! She has actually done it

As for the top 10, I had one of my worst weekends, even though I finnished with 5/6, many recieved the much prized GSP to shoot up the rankings

1  - Tapper 57.58
2  - Stevo26 55.33
3 ? 4 ShaunR 55.25
4 ? 4 Truth be told 55.00
5 ? 6 The Ice 54.50
6 ? 8 Potyster 54.33
7 ? 5 Die KriekPool captain 54.25
8 ? 4 Big Joe 53.50
9 ? 6 Kitchener 53.50
10 ? 3 Marcus C 53.17

Congrats to Tapper on his 8th week in a row at the top. Will anyone dethrone him in time to claim the grand prize, or has he already signed his name to the voucher?

As for the bottom 10, this week it will be a source of pride, rather than mockery

47 ? 1 Francois 42.33
48 ? 5 powa 42.33
49 ? 4 darwiniadarwinia won the yellow cap in this pool in round 9 41.08
50 ? 1 cupboards 41.00
51 ? 1 Skully 40.75
52  - Charmaine 39.75
53 ? 2 Rocky 39.00
54  - lobo 33.50
55  - Aragorn 20.25
56  - bigbadbill 9.50

Because of that little yellow cap next to her name, Darwinia has given hope to every other name on that list. You are all still in it, still have a chance to fight, if not for the final prize, then for every week’s voucher

Congratulations to Darwinia, Tapper, and everyone who made the 6/6 this weekend!

SuperBru – Week 8

16/04/2012 in Uncategorized

And so another wonderful week of rugby comes to a close

Most of the games this week were hit or miss affairs, with only two games where more than 80% picked the winning team on SuperBru, and this has caused quite a shuffle at the top of FTW.

Top 3 remains the same, but from 4 to 10 we see a complete reshuffle

1  - Tapper 50.75
2  - Stevo26 48.83
3  - Die KriekPool captain 48.75
4 ? 1 Kitchener 47.50
5 ? 20 WhistleblowerWhistleblower won the yellow cap in this pool in round 8 47.50
6 ? 2 Bloues 46.25
7 ? 3 ShaunR 45.25
8 ? 2 Truth be told 45.00
9 ? 2 Sizers 44.50
10 ? 7 Max 44.08

Things are definately hotting up as we head towards the halfway mark, as for the bottom 10 (sorry Dar)

47 ? 3 Ballboy 36.50
48 ? 1 One Time 35.00
49 ? 2 cupboards 35.00
50  - Skully 34.75
51 ? 5 Rocky 33.50
52  - Charmaine 33.25
53 ? 1 darwinia 30.08
54 ? 1 lobo 29.50
55  - Aragorn 20.25
56  - bigbadbill 9.50

It seems we have a casualty of war at the bottom, but things are moving higher up, with a few regulars having departed our bottom 10, and a few new faces joining the party

Another interresting thing to note is the score differrence between 10 and 50, less then 10 points! This is definately one of the most competitave pools I have played in. A single good week can see you climb very quickly, as our YellowCap winner of this week has proven, with a 20 spot gain!

Congratulations Whistleblower! Your numbers has earned you week 8′s Yellow, and a few extra numbers to play with, in the form of a R100 betting voucher.

Did’ya miss me?

10/04/2012 in Uncategorized

Finally! Feels like coming home from a visit to the in-laws!

Anyway, Telkom’s world class serviceUndecided was renderred useless for me the past few weeks due to oppurtunistic entrupreneurs (for the non-yarpies, read cable thieves) but I am back, rescued by the equally speedyUndecided  responses of South Africa’s mobile broadband operators.

So now the big question, anyone miss me?

Just kidding, of course you did (except maybe Count TruVanHugosuchandSuch)

So, heading straight back into the action, I was filled with joy each week to see my fellow bloggers still faithfully making their SuperBru picks. I have missed a few cappers, and am still easing back in, so a personal congratulations will follow in due time, for now, you know who you are, well done!

As for the past week, Round 7 Top 10:

1  - Tapper 45.75
2 ? 4 Stevo26 43.00
3 ? 1 Die KriekPool captain 42.75
4  - ShaunR 42.25
5 ? 2 Kitchener 40.25
6 ? 1 Potyster 40.00
7 ? 1 Cheeto 39.92
8 ? 9 Bloues 39.75
9 ? 2 Fragile 39.58
10 ? 3 Truth be told 39.50

Not the best of weeks for me, but a better week for some, Stevo26 climbing to 2nd spot. and Nagapie

14 ? 21 nagapienagapie won the yellow cap in this pool in round 7 38.75

A 21 spot climb this far into the compo is immense, and just shows how close everyone is overall.

Congrats on winning Round 7′s Yellow Cap!

I will leave out the bottom 10 this week, ease it back in next week.

Good luck to everyone in round 8

SuperBru – Week 3

13/03/2012 in Uncategorized

A hectic week, with yet more upsets, but a few of you got smart/lucky/clairvoiant and made the upsets less upsetting, for yourself at least.

As for me, 6 out of 7, bloody Crusaders! Just missed the yellow cap!

Tapper is still in the overall lead, and continues his good form, but relinquished the yellow cap this week

FTW Week 3 Top 10:

1  - Tapper 27.75
2 ? 26 StormyRodgerStormyRodger won the yellow cap in this pool in round 3 21.00
3 ? 3 Die KriekPool captain 20.50
4 ? 2 The Ice 19.25
5  - Bloues 19.00
6 ? 1 Big Joe 18.25
7 ? 1 Marcus 18.25
8 ? 4 Nelster 18.00
9 ? 1 Ballboy 17.50
10 ? 4 ShaunR 17.50

Congrats StormyRodger! The first MBET.co.za R100 betting voucher is yours, proudly sponsored by HiltonH

As for the Bottom 10:

47 ? 1 cupboards 12.00
48 ? 3 Dean 11.75
49 ? 16 vossie 11.50
50 ? 3 lobo 11.00
51 ? 3 Skully 11.00
52 ? 1 Baylion 11.00
53 ? 1 Charmaine 11.00
54 ? 12 Rocky 10.50
55 ? 24 bigbadbill 9.50
56 ? 1 darwinia 9.50

Quite a few Cheetahs have left the chasing pack and made way for a few Stormers Cool things are looking good!

Good luck to everyone for week 4, and remember, anyone can win the R100 voucher, even Darwinia!

Screw Cheeky, we can play!

09/03/2012 in Uncategorized

Reading REM’s latest blog http://blogs.sport24.co.za/Randy85/sjoe, I got myself an idea, a crazy one, but one LD said was too long for a comment, so I made it into a post

I propose a Sports24 Bloggers rugby team to play Super Rugby, still working on a name, but give us a shot ahead of Cheeky and his gang, hell, we know more than the Kings anyway.

I already have a fair idea of our best starting XV:

15. Hugo (hy’s altyd heel agter)

14. Inhlanzi (0-Incredible in 2 seconds flat)

13. Bloues (Quick wit, able to stand his ground)

12. Darwinia (Tannie Reliable)

11. Lobo (Jonah wie?)

10. REM (Cool, calm en VatiKaki)

9. Kitchener (He knows just how to get his backline racing!)

8. Hanjo (Strong push from behind)

7. Sheriffff (Tune hom daars Richelieu in en hy Fetch elke bal)

6. Darth Maul (Straight vir die enkels)

5. Met Uysh (Straigt up! Die lineout man!)

4. Johann (Daai ‘power’ stop jy met niks minder as feite, and even then you will struggle)

3. Powachair (Sit net vir hom ‘n Turbo op, vaskop elke scrum)

2. Black Beauty (Hak Hak . . . )

1. Baylion (Nie te veel los in die kop)

Coach : HiltonH (Hy ken mos die nommers!)

I think we may even have a shot at the title!
