Happy New Year to everyone and wishing all sports fans everything of the best for 2013.
2012 was quite an eventful year on my side. I started a new job at the beginning of the year and by the end of it, I was a married man. I got married on the holy ground of Newlands Cricket, a perfect setting for a sports nut like me, we even had our own personalized scoreboard thanks to one of our mates who bought it for us as a wedding gift. So in 2013 I will continue setting myself new goals in terms of my running and overall fitness. I’m set to run my second Two Oceans Half Marathon in a few months time and I want to build on a good 2012 of fitness.
One thing I did neglect in 2012 was my blogging and I have set myself a goal of blogging more often on this platform so hopefully you’ll continue to read.
AFCON gets underway in just a couple of weeks time and I must say, I was listening to an interview with Gordon Igesund on SuperSport the other day and this guy knows what he’s talking about, he’s got conviction in his words and we can only wish him and the team best of luck on home soil, it will be a cracking tournament. I still don’t understand though why the AFCON is played every two years instead of every four like the Euros, but anyways, it should be a brilliant tournament nevertheless.
Anyways, it’s time to kick off the year of work so let’s smash 2013!
